Open returns after 2-year lull
Frigate Bay, St. Kitts (March 24, 2004) - After a 2-year lull,
the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club says it's happy to announce that it
will host the St. Kitts Open this year from May 28 - 30.
"This year's Open will not be the usual Open," says Tournament
Director Joe Lancaster, "it will be played on the newly opened 9-holes
at the St. Kitts Marriott Golf Course. The tournament however, will
be limited to 80 players instead of the usual 120."
The St. Kitts Open has in the past, attracted participants from
as far South as Trinidad & Tobago and as far North as Florida.
Baljit Vohra, Chair of the Events Subcommittee says, "The organizing
committee of the Club has been working very closely with Kurt Greve
and his support staff at Marriott Golf and we are confident that
this year's Open will be like none other. Today we launched the
first-ever St. Kitts Open website (www.StKittsOpen.4t.com) which
will serve to keep players, fans and the media up to date with the
tournament."
According to Club Captain, Ezeikel Percival, "This year participants
will vie for titles out of a total of 5 categories including 2 flights
for Men's, 1 for Senior's, 1 for Super Senior's and 1 for Ladies."
Registration will begin April 1.
